Network World Features Merchant Warehouse Co-CEO in Debate about Card Data Security Responsibilities
02/11/2010On February 11, 2010, Network World posted John Dix's Tech Debate that featured Co-CEO of Merchant Warehouse, Henry Helgeson and Phil Lieberman of Lieberman Software. Their debate focused on what was learned from the 2009 Heartland Payment Systems, Inc data breach and who should be held responsible for taking the necessary security measures to prevent them.
While Lieberman believes the card issuers are to blame for not issuing smart cards, Helgeson believes that it's important that payment processing providers step up their efforts to lock down systems and protect cardholder data.
